The list of celebrities with failed marriages appears to be on the increase. From notable acts such as Ayo Adesanya, Kate Henshaw, Eucharia Anunobi, Saheed Bologun, Fathia Balogun, Monalisa Chinda, and Doris Simon to Shan George, many celebrities have suffered marital accident. The reported separation of celebrated actress, Funke Akindele, and her husband, Kehinde Oloyede, is the latest in the long list.
Gbenga: It’s not about lack of time; it’s about character. Are these celebrities busier than President Barack Obama, who has the world on his shoulders but still finds time to do some home work with his children? Many celebrities (and people) lack good character. At least, Omotola Jolaade-Ekehinde is still happily married, so there’s hope for some.
Obi: Somebody should tell our Nollywood brothers
and sisters to be good examples to the society. They are becoming a bad
influence on the younger generation. These are people taken as role models by
our youths. They should help us. Nudity today, scandal tomorrow, broken
marriage next day is leaving our younger society in confusion and detasting of
the sweet institution of marriage. I am so heartbroken here!
preparing for the marriage itself is dangerous. Young persons with fame must
fear God, pray very well for God’s directive and let God choose for them while
marrying. I pray they can forgive each other the way Jesus forgives and come
back together; because no marriage in the world is perfect!
