Hearing Kanye West talk about his family is just the best thing.
The rapper stopped at a radio show on L.A.’s Real 92.3 radio station on Friday to drop the opening single off the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer, but he couldn’t stop gushing about his wife Kim Kardashian West and their two children.
“I’m crazy about my kids,” the 38-year-old artist told the radio host. “I’m crazy about Kim.”
“I want to learn what my daughter has to say, what she learns,” he added of his daughter, North. “I just want to learn how she learns in this world. I’m extremely protective.”
Kanye also said that when he left his shoe deal with Nike to go to Adidas, he did it “to make a better life for my daughter.”
Kanye also addressed this popular misconception regarding his wife — the idea that he dresses her.
“Nah, she tells me what to wear,” Kanye laughed. “We both love clothes. We both worked in clothes from, I’ma say, grammar school. We only worked in clothing stores. I worked at the Gap and she worked at a store called Body.”
When talking about his music, Kanye gave some of those classic Kanye quotes that we all know and… feel very strongly about one way or the other.
“I’m a champion. I’m a winner. I came to innovate. I came to change,” he told host Big Boy. “This is like Michael Jackson level.”
