International day of the girl child: Meet our Speakers

1. She is popularly  known is a woman with multiple roles. She is an international speaker,  Forensic Interviewer & Trainer, Family Systems Engineering Practitioner,  Neuro Linguistics Programming Practitioner (NLP), Criminal Justice Psychologist, Victim Advocate, Child & Women Rights Activist and forerunner on Sexual violence against women and children related issues.

2. Professor Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika is the Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Lagos.

She read Linguistics and Communication at the University of Port Harcourt, after which she did her postgraduate diploma in Mass Communication in the University of Lagos and a master’s degree in the same school. In 1997, she started her PhD in the University of Ibadan, which she had a break to travel to England when she got a British Chevening scholarship.  She later came back, completed her PhD and joined the services of the University of Lagos as Lecturer.

Today, Prof. Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika is the first female professor, Mass Communication department.

3. Pharm (Mrs) Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, has before now, carved a niche for herself in developing and alleviating poverty at the grassroots. As Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Lagos Youth, senior and aged citizens, beggars/destitute and people living with disabilities (PWDs), have reason to smile as helmsman who understands their plights and sufferings is in charge of their ministry.
A renowned philanthropist, Princess Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, has said that she would continue to touch the lives of the poor and add value to their lives.
